I have a choice between a JD 790/70 loader/AG tires/4wd for $14,000 or a NH TC30/7308 loader/9x3 trans/4wd/R4 tires for $14,855. Are these good prices and if so, which tractor is better? Both are new and are offered with 36 month 0% financing. Tractor will be used for rotary mower work and general maintenance on 5 acres. Or, are there any suggestions for a tractor that may work better while staying under $18,000.

I just bought a harvest return (40hrs) JD790/4X4/AG with new FEL (not JD) and scraper for $14K. Warranty, but no 0%. I like it a lot so far! I was hard after a TC29 also but decided on the JD among other things because it uses steel panels and not plastic. General feeling (to me) is that I'd rather have something substantial. But I've heard the TC is a good machine. Good luck! ....

The NH TC30 has more lifting capacity with loader approx.150 additional pounds. Also JD offers a 8x2 transmission NH a 9x3 and also a hydo option (good idea for mowing).John Deere still has the exhaust stack through the hood as compared to clean hood line on NH offering better visability. Hitch capacity on NH is around 1600 lbs. compare to JD around 800lbs. Finally the 790 still has the old dry shoe brakes compared to wet on TC30. If after all this you still want the John Deere go for a better after market loader they rob you for the #70 (difficult to get a discount). ....
